Residents and employees donated used glasses (prescription glasses, readers or sunglasses) to help those in need. This program helps serve more than one billion people globally who cannot afford or do not have access to eyewear. Donated glasses will be refurbished, cleaned, and labeled to benefit those in need.

Garden Play Project Build Day

Description:

This was a community effort to build a playspace in Kemah, which was affected by Hurricane Ike. The center offers an outdoor classroom, community garden, and playground, and services children 5-12 years of age. Volunteers helped build, paint, and plant trees.

Gingersnaps, Etc. - Tin Packing

Description:

Volunteers packed decorative tins for sale by Gingersnaps, Etc., supporting the Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation. They developed the Gingersnaps program in 1998 as a fundraising effort. Since that time, the volunteer-driven effort has raised over $1million to help developmentally challenged adults in the Houston area.

Ronald McDonald House Prom Night
