Description: Residents and employees are invited to donate time and money in the form of sponsorships for walking in the Race for the Cure. Walk, run or be on the sidelines cheering on the AMLI FAMLI - we hope you will donate and join our team!

Event: Eyes of Hope
Date: October 1 - December 31, 2009
Description: Residents and employees donated used glasses (prescription glasses, readers or sunglasses) to help those in need. This program helps serve more than one billion people globally who cannot afford or do not have access to eyewear. Donated glasses will be refurbished, cleaned, and labeled to benefit those in need.
 
Event: Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
Date: October 3, 2009
Description: Walk, run or be on the sidelines cheering on the AMLI FAMLI - all Houston communities are invited to join our team.
 
Event: SPCA Collection
Date: Through August 20, 2009
Description: We are collecting items for our local SPCA Shelter. Food for all pets, toys, blankets, towels, treats and especially newspapers! All Communities in Houston are participating and each office has a collection box.
 
Event: Garden Play Project Build Day
Date: May 16, 2009
Description: This was a community effort to build a playspace in Kemah, which was affected by Hurricane Ike. The center offers an outdoor classroom, community garden, and playground, and services children 5-12 years of age. Volunteers helped build, paint, and plant trees.
 
Event: Gingersnaps, Etc. - Tin Packing
Date: April 23, 2009
Description: Volunteers packed decorative tins for sale by Gingersnaps, Etc., supporting the Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation. They developed the Gingersnaps program in 1998 as a fundraising effort. Since that time, the volunteer-driven effort has raised over $1million to help developmentally challenged adults in the Houston area.
 
Event: Ronald McDonald House Prom Night
Date: January 19, 2009
Description: The AMLI FAMLI helped to set up for the Ronald McDonald House Prom Night event. The gala raises over $1 million each year for the Houston Ronald McDonald House.
