Living Green

At AMLI Residential, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and becoming an industry leader in sustainable apartment operations. We have created a Green Task Force that is focused on AMLI's green mission to provide a sustainable living environment for our future. This involves not only improving the way we do business, but also working with our residents and partners alike in ensuring that we protect the environment and strive to create and maintain healthier, more sustainable apartment communities.

We have partnered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR® program and have committed to help improve the energy efficiency of our apartment buildings by 10 percent or more through the ENERGY STAR Challenge. To that end, we are performing energy audits on all of our communities and analyzing possible conservation strategies. Whether it is through energy efficient lighting, ENERGY STAR® appliances, programmable thermostats, additional insulation or other improvements, AMLI is committed to lowering resident utility bills and reducing our carbon footprint. 

In addition, AMLI is testing and installing high-performance, water saving fixtures, including Water Sense showerheads, toilets and faucets at many of our communities. We are also utilizing native and drought-tolerant vegetation and water-reuse strategies to provide beautifully landscaped communities that protect local water systems and improve storm water runoff.

AMLI is taking measures to enhance the indoor air quality of all of our communities. We are purchasing low-VOC paints, carpets and adhesives, as well as advanced air filters, fresh air ventilation systems and green cleaning products. In addition, select AMLI communities in Chicago, Atlanta, Denver and Seattle offer smoke-free living with AMLI's Breatheasy^TM program which prohibits smoking by residents and guests inside apartment homes and throughout the community, creating a healthy living environment for our residents. 

AMLI is committed to partnering with our residents to reduce, reuse and recycle whenever possible and thereby diverting significant amounts of waste from landfills each month.
