This mobile ticket grants access to some of Southern California's most popular destinations at a discount, making it ideal for visitors and residents alike.
What is the SoCal CityPASS and where can I go?
What is the SoCal CityPASS?
The Southern California CityPASS gives ticket holders access to some of Southern California's most popular entertainment and amusement parks at a highly discounted rate. Unlike other City Pass tickets, the SoCal CityPASS resells individual tickets to popular destinations at a discounted rate, whereas other CityPASS programs sell one ticket that grants access to a variety of museums or attractions.
From single-day passes to 5-day entry permits, CityPASS holders can choose from a variety of discounted individual ticket packages to the following popular destinations.
- Disneyland Resort
- Universal Studios Hollywood
- SeaWorld San Diego
- LEGOLAND California Resort
- San Diego Zoo and Safari Park
The one benefit of using a SoCal CityPASS over a traditional admission ticket is that you have a little more control over specific exhibits and parks you want to visit and pay for. Especially when it comes to ticket packages for Disneyland Resort, where you can choose what parks you want to visit, how many days you want to spend there and whether you want to bounce from park to park.
How much is the SoCal CityPASS?
The amount you spend on a SoCal CityPASS completely depends on the destination you choose to visit, as well as the ticket packages for that specific destination. Prices may even change during peak seasons and weekends, so there really isn't a single set price for a SoCal CityPASS.
What you can count on is saving at least a little on each entry ticket, as every ticket purchased through SoCal CityPASS will be discounted from traditional entry tickets purchased directly through the destination.
Where can I go with the SoCal CityPASS?
Disneyland Resort
A SoCal CityPASS grants access to both Disneyland Park and/or the Disney California Adventure right across the street. You can also choose to purchase a 2-day pass, 3-day pass, 4-day pass or 5-day pass, each of which can be upgraded to include Disney Genie+ service that grants access to the Lightning Lane at rides and attractions. You can also add a park hopper upgrade that allows you to jump between the two separate parks in a single day.
All in all, there are 16 different ticket packages available through SoCal CityPASS. Granted, you may only be saving a few dollars on some of the simpler tickets, but if you're going for a 5-day-Park-Hopper-and-Disney-Genie+-entry ticket, you'll find that the savings are fairly significant.
Universal Studios Hollywood
A SoCal CityPASS is like a letter to Hogwarts, granting you access to not just the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but also to all the studio magic offered at Universal Studios Hollywood.
The world-famous studio tour offers visitors a sneak peek into the backstage of some of Hollywood's most popular productions. Catch a glimpse of late night show hosts walking back and forth before their show, get up close and personal with Peter Jackson's King Kong 3D exhibit and learn about all the tricks of the trade that make our favorite Hollywood blockbusters so timeless.
You can choose from four different ticket packages through SoCal CityPASS, including 1-day admission, 2-day admission and upgrades that include Universal Express.
SeaWorld San Diego
SeaWorld offers a host of fascinating aquatic attractions, including educational shows, theme park rides, interactive exhibits and, of course, plenty of ocean and marine animals.
The SoCal CityPASS offers one discounted ticket type to SeaWorld San Diego, valid for a single person entry for one day. Instead of paying upwards of $100 for a single admission, a CityPASS ticket gets you there for just $75.
LEGOLAND California Resort
Whether you've been building Lego for 35 years or are just exploring the wonders of colored blocks, LEGOLAND California Resort is a world-class attraction not to be missed.
The Legoland California Resort includes the LEGOLAND theme park, the LEGOLAND Water Park and Sea Life Aquarium, the combination of which you can choose to visit when purchasing your SoCal CityPASS ticket.
San Diego Zoo and Safari Park
With over 3,700 rare and endangered animals living peacefully in the San Diego Zoo & Safari Park, it's a good thing that the SoCal CityPASS offers both 1- and 2-day passes to the world-class attraction. Otherwise, there's no way to really get the most out of visiting the parks.
The San Diego Zoo features educational tours, interactive exhibits, underwater viewing rooms and, of course, a massive complex filled with animals and birds from all over the world — with carefully constructed ecosystems allowing regional animals to live as close to their natural environment as possible.
Where can I get a SoCal CityPASS?
You can get a SoCal CityPASS from this website only, as you won't find the discounted rates at any of the physical destinations. You’ll get an email containing your downloadable tickets once the payment has been processed, then they are yours to use as needed! Be sure to check for reservation requirements, expiration dates and park availability before you purchase your ticket to ensure you get the most out of your SoCal CityPASS purchase.
So, whether you're visiting Southern California for the first time or are a theme park junkie at heart, the SoCal CityPASS is sure to give you a chance to experience all the best entertainment destinations in SoCal at a much more reasonable rate then you would get otherwise.
Have fun!
