DFW's Hottest Green Retailers | AMLI Residential

by
Dec 4th, 2017

If you’re an environmentally-conscious consumer who likes to support local business, you’ll be glad to hear green retailers are thriving in Dallas. And thanks to Green Source DFW, Dallas’ Green Business Certification Program, and other green business initiatives, the area’s green retailers are getting the recognition they deserve. Here’s a list of successful green retailers in North Texas to keep in mind throughout the holiday shopping season and beyond.

Fair and Square Imports

This fashionable McKinney home goods store works exclusively with fair trade organizations who care for their producers and the environment. Rest assured knowing the artisans behind the jewelry, textiles, and accessories you purchase here are treated fairly. Some goods on offer at Fair and Square are innovative upcycles, like the recycled-sari Kantha throws. Fair and Square Imports is located 15 miles northeast of AMLI at the Ballpark.

Flora at BRIT

The Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT) is dedicated to environmental conservation, research, and education. Flora, the Fort Worth institute’s gift shop, sells an assortment of unique upcycled decor, fair trade jewelry, and nature-themed gifts.

Green Lotus Spa & Retreat

This highly-rated Dallas spa provides treatments nature lovers can feel good about. And natural, organic products are only the beginning. Green Lotus, a 100 percent paperless operation, derives most of its power from its signature wind turbine. EV-driving customers can plug their rides into Green Lotus’ BLiNK car charging station while they get pampered. This green spa oasis is less than two miles from AMLI Quadrangle‘s Uptown Dallas apartments.

Green Pet

This Bishop Arts District pet supply store drives home the point that green lifestyles aren’t just for humans. Green Pet carries several top-selling, all-natural pet food formulas and treats. And the pet supply store’s inventory of toys and accessories features products made primarily from recycled materials.

Pretty Things & Cool Stuff

This Dallas-based online retailer sells one-of-a-kind, sustainably-crafted jewelry, clothing, stationery, and more. Proprietor Kim Young’s selection of wares includes an array of upcycled goods.

Rooster Home & Hardware

This Dallas outfit sells eco-friendly products for all of your home goods, hardware, and gardening needs. Rooster Home & Hardware is also home to one of the most innovative selections of green toys for children. All toys are BPA-free and made from 100-percent recycled materials.

Whole Earth Provision Co.

Whole Earth’s inventory features only products it deems useful, relevant, educational, and high-quality. In other words, Whole Earth Provisions doesn’t sell mass-produced goods designed purely to maximize a manufacturer’s profits. This specialty retailer’s eclectic selection of clothing, recreational gear, and essentials is particularly amenable to outdoor enthusiasts.
