The north Dallas suburb of Richardson is a safe, spacious, and convenient place to live. It’s also a great place to have a good time. While residents of Richardson apartments will still want to visit Dallas for those cultural treasures that only a big urban city can sustain, Richardson offers plenty in the way of entertainment and recreation in its own right.
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema
Treat yourself to a unique dinner-and-a-movie experience at the Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson. Self described as “dinner, drinks, movies and events, all under one roof,” this theater is anything but average. While drinking and eating during movies are obviously encouraged, interruptions of any other kind will get you kicked out. The only thing these guys hate more than talking and texting, is ads before movies, so they opt instead for custom made preshows. But all of that is exactly the kind of fanaticism and attention to detail that makes Alamo Drafthouse a safe haven for serious movie goers.
Four Bullets Brewery
Richardson’s first brewery has made waves in the beer industry throughout the State of Texas. Four Bullets Brewery is open Saturday from 12 to 6 PM for tours, tastings, and pints. Ten bucks will buy you an engaging brewery tour, a free souvenir pint glass, and three pints of handcrafted beer straight from the tap. New heaters make the patio a nice place to enjoy a strong ale even on a chilly winter day.
Geocaching at Breckinridge Park
A jewel of the Richardson park system, Breckinridge Park is an ideal place for some high-octane geocaching. If you have yet to experience the phenomenon of finding hidden objects by means of GPS coordinates posted on a website, this is a good first place to try. Boasting seven acres of lush green space, Breckinridge Park is also a nice place for a walk, run, or family picnic.
The North Texas Automotive Museum
An underrated entertainment venue and museum with more than 70,000 square feet of display space, the NTX Auto Museum is just five minutes from the luxury Richardson apartments at AMLI Galatyn Station. The museum showcases an impressive collection of antique, classic, and muscle cars. Pay a visit to the museum, plan an event in one of its banquet rooms, or check the calendar of events for upcoming auto shows.
