The holidays are right around the corner and there’s never been a better time to check out the sparkling lights during Garden d’Lights at Bellevue Botanical Garden. See over half a million lights formed in the shapes of plants, flowers, birds, animals and waterfalls—all set in the natural beauty of the gardens. Located just a short drive from AMLI’s Seattle apartment rentals, a trip to the Garden d’Lights is a great way to put you into the holiday spirit.
This display runs from Saturday, Nov. 24 through Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, and includes both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Here’s what to expect at the Garden d’Lights at Bellevue Botanical Garden.
The lights
The Garden d’Light event is produced by the Bellevue Botanical Garden Society in partnership with Bellevue Parks and Community Services. Every year, community volunteers come together to put on this whimsical light show. During your time here, you will walk on a well-lit pathway which is is roughly 3/4 of a mile. Plan to spend at least 45 minutes to see all of the lights and add more time if you want to pause along the way to view the one-of-kind displays. This colorful event is fun for the whole family and a beautiful experience to kick off the holiday season. You can get here to enjoy the lights in a 2-mile drive from our downtown Bellevue apartments.
Entertainment
Live musical performances will be going on most nights during the evening hours at the Garden d’Lights. You can catch bands at either the Gathering Place, which is right inside the main entrance or the Aaron Education Center, just north of the main entrance. Each performance will go on for a duration of 30-60 minutes. The Gingerbread Village by Wilburton Community will also be available to walk through, where you can see gingerbread creations made by people of all ages on display. During the Garden d’Lights, the Trillium Store gift shop will be open from 4:30-9:30pm. While you’re visiting, stop into the Aaron Education Center for a hot drink or light snack.
Free nights
The Bellevue Botanical Garden offers several free nights for adults in the days after the Thanksgiving holiday. Admission is free and no tickets are required the nights of November 24-29, 2018. Admission for children under 10 is always free.
