As the weather continues to warm up, it’s become all the more necessary to find the perfect cold treat to suit your sweet tooth and keep you cool for the summer. And if you’re wondering what that cold snack may be—yes, the answer is ice cream. There are plenty of ice cream shops for you to enjoy, and we recommend trying every single one of them.
Wilton Creamery
2301 Wilton Drive
Differing from your average mom-and-pop ice cream shop, Wilton Creamery defines itself as an “upscale boutique.” A loft space with industrial decor, take your pick from either indoor or outdoor seating as you try out their multitude of ice cream flavors. With vegan. gluten-free and non-dairy options, no dietary restriction can refrain you from making your way over to Wilton’s and enjoying a tasty snack! Some of their most popular flavor choices include:
- Triple rum raisin
- Nutella crunch
- Key lime
- Strong coffee
And for all you single folks out there? The “He’s Not Worth It!” is your go-to. This vanilla and English toffee ice cream includes Oreo cookies, Heath bar and chopped soft caramel, all finished with a swirl of sea salt caramel. Not too shabby, right? If you aren’t in the mood for ice cream, Wilton Creamery also offers shakes, sundaes and bubble tea for your convenience.
Sloan’s Ice Cream
700 S. Rosemary Ave.
A retro shop bringing you back to the 1950s, Sloan’s Ice Cream provides you with traditional ice cream flavors we all know and love. Enjoy your ice cream in a freshly made waffle cone, or add a freshly baked cookie to your order. With its first location opening in Palm Beach in 1999, Sloan’s has since expanded to more than 15 locations in Florida, California and even the Middle East. Their melt-in-your-mouth flavors include options such as the Almond Joy, Mom’s Apple Pie and Birthday, which is loaded with chunks of buttercream frosted chocolate and yellow birthday cake. For those looking to try unique flavors that you can’t find elsewhere, we recommend the Coffee and Doughnuts, a creamy coffee ice cream with Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts thrown into the mix. Our only recommendation? Make sure you wear your stretchy pants! Other flavors include:
- Fresh Strawberry
- Mint Chocolate Chunk
- Oatmeal Raisin Cookie
- S’mores
Sloan’s is open until 11pm during the weekdays and midnight on the weekends. Be sure to stop on by!
