Spending time in nature makes us healthier and happier people, and who can argue with that? So, grab your hiking shoes and prepare to get moving on these Irving, Texas trails.
Campion Trail

The scenic Campion Trail offers a mixture of nature and urban views as it winds through Irving. The trail is comprised of a northern and southern section that together total 16 miles of wide, flat and paved pathway. There are even future plans in place to extend the Campion Trial even further throughout the area. Our apartments at AMLI Campion Trail carry the path’s namesake. AMLI Las Colinas is also near this trail.
Bird’s Fort Trail Park

This park offers a variety of scenery as it runs alongside the Trinity River. There are fountains, bridges and a large meadow to keep everyone entertained throughout the trail. It is roughly 1.5 miles in length, making it perfect for any level of walking, running or bike riding. This park is a lovely destination to enjoy the great outdoors and take in the multiple river overlooks along the way.
Sam Houston Trail Park

Walk, run, bike or rollerblade on this 22-mile paved pathway that runs along the Trinity River. This is a scenic trail that is wide, smooth and has some slight hills, not typical for the area. It’s the perfect outdoor location for any activity level. There are mile markers located on the trail and also has a few different route options to switch up your journey and keep you coming back.
Mountain Creek Preserve

The Mountain Creek Preserve offers more amenities than many other parks in this area. Not only is there a 4-mile hard surface trail, but also an outdoor basketball area, playgrounds, cricket field, picnic areas with pavilions, grills, canoe launch and horse trails.
Centennial Park Trail

A great place to take in nature on your next walk, run or bike ride—a big perk is that the 2/3 mile trail is lit at night so you can enjoy your activities into the evening hours. This park celebrates Irving’s first 100 years of existence and is filled with history. Upon entering the arrival plaza, be sure to check out the wall that highlights the significant milestones of the city’s history.
