by
Sep 3rd, 2014

It’s fresh. It’s local. It’s organic. And it can be found practically in your backyard if you live at AMLI at Barrett or another centrally located Kennesaw apartment home.

The produce, ready-made eats, and delicacies available at the Kennesaw Farmers Market have a reputation for being some of the best in the Atlanta area.

Kennesaw residents acquainted with the farmers market have long known one need not visit downtown Atlanta nor go further out on the city’s periphery in order to find high-quality, fresh produce. All that good and healthy stuff can be found right here. To recognize the event and the people whose work make it possible, we shine the spotlight on the Kennesaw Farmers Market.

Kennesaw Farmers Market History and Essential Details

Emerging as a response to an increase in consumer demand for fresh, organic food, the Kennesaw Farmers Market first took place in 2005. Now in its tenth year of operation, the veteran market has established a name for itself that farmers market watchers from all over the Atlanta area recognize and trust. This year’s season kicked off on May 6 and runs through October 28, taking place each Tuesday from 7AM to 1PM in the Adams Park soccer field parking lot. It is sponsored by the Kennesaw Downtown Development Authority.

What You Can Buy at the Kennesaw Farmers Market

Dozens of local farmers and merchants congregate in the Adams Park soccer field parking lot, each touting their own produce, herbs, fresh breads, and food-related products. From Georgia peaches and ripe, on-the-vine tomatoes to potted plants and flowers to prepackaged meals, the offerings are vast. Freshly harvested honey, pickled peaches, hot sauces, jellies, jams, and other jarred and pickled goods complement some of the freshest produce in the region to give home and restaurant chefs a selection to choose from that would make Emeril Lagasse envious. Melon, berries, string beans, squash, and freshly-baked multigrain sunflower bread have all been popular at the market lately.
