Six Great Cafes in Woodland Hills

by

Southern California is a good place to be a coffee snob. If you live in Warner Center or elsewhere in the Woodland Hills neighborhood, a couple of L.A.’s hippest coffee shops are practically in your backyard. The next time you want to catch up with a friend over coffee or you have work you want to crank out at a coffee shop, remember these fine establishments are nearby.

Angel City Cafe

A weekend brunch and casual dining spot, Angel City Cafe is more a place to catch up with friends than to work. The cafe has a neighborhood feel, affordable food, friendly and efficient service, and French Press coffee. After obtaining a liquor license in April, Angel City also serves beer and wine. The drive from AMLI Warner Center typically takes just over five minutes.

The Baker

A few blocks west of Angel City on Ventura Boulevard is The Baker, a cafe praised for its fresh-baked bread, crispy paninis, cakes, macaroons, and other cookies. Patrons also enjoy the freshly brewed coffee, cafe au lait, Persian tea, and hot chocolate at this popular Woodlands Hills cafe.

Barista Society

Famous for its iced coffee beverages, Barista Society is an ideal place to cool down on hot summer days. The Iced Sweet Casanova latte spiked with sweeten condensed milk, is Barista Society’s most popular beverage. Other drinks patrons order frequently include the iced hazelnut latte, mocha latte, and blended dulce de leche. The Village location is a five-minute drive from the Woodland Hills apartments at AMLI Warner Center. The cafe’s interior is small, but there is plenty of atmospheric outdoor public seating.

Bobby’s Coffee Shop

Open at 6 AM Monday through Saturday and 7 AM on Sundays, Bobby’s Coffee Shop is a go-to destination for early morning coffee in Woodland Hills. Coffee and tea are served, both iced and hot, and pair nicely with a build-your-own omelet and everything else on the large breakfast menu.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

Many coffee drinkers appreciate the predictability of a visit to a large coffee chain. If you’re craving a coffee you can expect to taste the same every time or want a place where you can order one drink and sit for four hours working without being bothered, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf can deliver. The Westfield Topanga Village location is just a mile from AMLI Warner Center.

Gasolina Cafe

Enjoy a traditional Spanish coffee break at Gasolina Cafe, a quaint breakfast, and lunch spot known for its latte, breakfast sandwich, and patatas bravas. Other Spanish and Latin American bites, such as empanadas and membrillo-manchego toast, have also garnered a good review. The lively atmosphere and friendly service further enrich the experience of passing time at Gasolina Cafe.

AMLI Warner Center is conveniently located near all of these Woodland Hills cafes. At times you’d rather not venture to a cafe, you can always brew a pot of coffee in your apartment and work in the community’s WiFi-equipped business center. When you’d prefer to have a cup of coffee brewed for you or are craving a breakfast sandwich, enjoy every sip and bite at one of these places or your favorite neighborhood cafe.
