by
Sep 26th, 2018

Music lovers rejoice! Austin City Limits is back at Zilker Park for two consecutive three-day weekends. This festival inspired by the KLRU/PBS music series runs from October 5-7 and again on October 12-14, 2018. No matter what type of music you’re into, Austin City Limits has something for you. There’s a full line-up of music, local artisans selling merchandise, kids activities and tons of great food.

Located just south of AMLI’s downtown Austin apartments, Zilker Park is the perfect spot to spend the weekend rocking out with the Austin skyline as the backdrop. Get your friends together and get ready to dance!  Let’s get into what to experience at Austin City Limits.

Music

The music lineup is obviously the number one attraction. With eight stages and over 140 musical groups performing, there’s something for every musical palate. A few of the 2018 headliners are Paul McCartney, Odesza, Metallica, Childish Gambino, Arctic Monkeys and Travis Scott. Bands are playing all day, so check out the schedule and plan your experience with the official ACL app.

Art market

Not only will you find festival and band merchandise, including posters and apparel, but also goods from local artisans. See the creativity and talent of Austin artists and makers and pick up something unique at the ACL market in the center of Zilker Park. The market is open through the extent of the festival and all vendors accept cash, debit, credit or ACL cashless payments.

Austin eats

No festival experience is complete without good food. Austin City Limits features local grub from over 25 of Austin’s best restaurants. The 2018 festival will have food options throughout the park, many that have vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. A few Austin favorites that will be there include Amy’s Ice Cream, Stubb B-B-Q, Austin’s Pizza and MMMpanadas.

Around the park

Other than amazing music, there is a variety of other activities and areas to take a break around the park. Stop in to see the ACL Cares area and learn about local causes, check out the mini-fest for kids, have a beer in the beer hall or stop and snap an Instagram-worthy shot at the many photo spots around the festival grounds. The area also has many water stations and areas to charge your phone—perfect to rest and relax after all that dancing. The festival is packed with things to do and experience from day until night.
