A Look at the Nightlife in Atlanta’s Buckhead District

by

Midtown may have a more concentrated selection of nightlife hot spots than any other neighborhood in Atlanta, but happening bars, clubs, and pubs can be found in all corners of the city.

Atlantans who live in apartments near Emory University are fortunate to live close enough to Midtown to experience all it has to offer, but there are plenty of great bars and clubs in Buckhead and Druid Hills as well.

Maggie’s Neighborhood Bar and Grill

What separates Maggie’s Bar from Emory University? Aside from official affiliation and a few feet of physical space, not a whole lot, as just about any of-age student will attest. If you want to live like you did in the good ol’ college days, Maggie’s Bar is the place to be. Drinks hardly cost more than they do at the liquor store, the atmosphere is lively, and the staff is famous for being friendly. Perhaps best of all, Maggie’s is an inexpensive, ten-minute Uber ride from AMLI Lindbergh and AMLI Piedmont Heights.

The Pool Hall

Chances are you’ll either love or hate The Pool Hall. While you won’t know for sure which camp you fall into until you try it, you may want to steer clear if you can’t deal with a bit of grit and prefer crystal glasses to clear plastic cups. If a dingy atmosphere with distinctly southern flair and regular karaoke nights sounds like the setting to your next great night out, don’t miss out on what’s probably the diviest bar on the Buckhead nightlife circuit. The Pool Hall is just over two miles from AMLI Lindbergh and AMLI Piedmont Heights.

The Tavern at Phipps

If The Pool Hall is not for you, The Tavern at Phipps likely is. This swanky Phipps Plaza restaurant and bar is impeccably designed, its cocktails are exceptional, and the crowd is generally dressed to impress. Live music permeates the air every night of the week. The only downside for those who like to stay out until closing time, is that The Tavern closes at 11 PM.

Tin Roof Cantina

Cheap drinks, good eats, live music, ping pong, darts, foosball, video games, and cornhole are all available for your consumption and entertainment at this Buckhead establishment. Tin Roof hosts trivia on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Texas Hold ‘Em showdowns are held on Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons, and other fun events fill out the rest of their weekly schedule.

Do you still have to make plans for the upcoming weekend? May we suggest joining other residents of Buckhead luxury apartments at one of these fine, local establishments? After all, you don’t fully know your neighborhood until you know its bars.

What’s your favorite bar in Buckhead? Let us know in the comments.
