Five Reasons to Live in Uptown Dallas

by
Jun 20th, 2016

Uptown Dallas is more or less synonymous with the phrase “prime real estate.” The Walk Scores assigned to addresses in the neighborhood are a testament to this. The AMLI Quadrangle apartments in Uptown Dallas, for instance, have a walk score of 96. Compare this to the average Dallas walk score of 45, and you can begin to imagine how much easier it is for residents to get around Uptown by foot.

Unbeatable Location

The commercial center of Downtown Dallas is nearby, and plenty of residents already work in Uptown. The boutiques, designer stores, and professional services in the West Village are impressive. Several of Dallas’ most celebrated restaurants, including Fearing’s and The Mansion Restaurant, are in the neighborhood.

Where arts and culture are concerned, Uptown Dallas is home to the David Dike Fine Art Gallery, Landmark Magnolia Theatre and Kitchen Dog Theater. It’s also next door to the Dallas Arts District, home to the Dallas Museum of Art, and Perot Museum of Nature and Sciences. American Airlines Center, home to the Dallas Mavericks and Stars, is a 20-minute walk from AMLI Quadrangle and just under a mile from AMLI Design District.

Exceptional Nightlife

Concerts, sporting events, movies, and fine dining experiences are easily accessible every night of the week. So are several of Dallas’ hottest bars, cocktail lounges, and nightclubs. Favorites include Blackfriar Pub, Two Corks and a Bottle, The Idle Rich Pub, The Nodding Donkey, and The Ginger Man, just one block up Howell Street from AMLI Quadrangle and a short drive from AMLI on Maple.

Feel-Good Energy

Uptown Dallas bustles with a special brand of infectious energy, palpable everywhere from shops and restaurants to yoga studios to apartment communities. This energy contributes to an optimistic, can-do air that inspires many to reach their personal and professional goals. The neighborhood is thriving, as are many of its residents. This energy, the neighborhood’s urban feel, and the constant that there’s always something going on in Uptown Dallas are a big draw for many.

Katy Trail, Griggs Park, and Klyde Warren Park

At the time it was completed in 2007, the multipurpose Katy Trail was the crown jewel among urban Dallas green space. Almost everyone who lived near was eager to have access to a scenic, car-free trail with few crossings or interruptions. Today, the Katy Trail and the recently made over Griggs Park still vie for the attention of nature lovers and outdoor recreation enthusiasts. But the still infant Klyde Warren Park, connecting Uptown Dallas to the Arts District and downtown, provides residents with another nice space for enjoying the great outdoors. Just the presence of these lovely, well-maintained green spaces is enough to motivate you to stay active and get out from time to time. AMLI Quadrangle is three blocks from the Katy Trail and just over ten minutes’ walk from Griggs Park.

Quality Apartments

Throughout its construction boom over the past decade, Uptown Dallas has transformed. During this time, many of the apartments for rent today in the neighborhood were built new or thoroughly renovated. As a result, communities like AMLI Quadrangle are stacked with first-rate amenities and have a nice modern aesthetic.

In spite of its glimmering skyline and handful of densely populated neighborhoods, Dallas is a sprawling city. Uptown Dallas residents who work nearby can even get by without owning a car. To experience what makes Uptown a young professional hub and a desirable place to rent an apartment, get out and explore.
