Great North Dallas Date Ideas | AMLI Residential

Date planning can be exciting, but it doesn’t come naturally to everyone. If you’re trying to plan a fun and romantic evening out with your significant other but are struggling to choose an activity or destination, you’ve come to the right place. Here are fun dates ideas in the north Dallas communities of Frisco, Irving, Plano, and Richardson.

Catch a RoughRiders game

Frisco’s Dr. Pepper Ballpark is one of the best minor league parks in the country. If you live at AMLI at the Ballpark, you can take advantage of its close proximity by taking a date to a RoughRiders game or other event held at the venue. It’s less than five minutes’ walk away.

Dinner and a movie at Alamo Drafthouse

The drive-in theater is not the only old-school movie screening experience making a comeback in North Dallas. Alamo Drafthouse, an adults-only movie theater that serves themed dishes and special cocktails while screening films, is a wildly popular date destination.

Paddleboard on Lake Carolyn

Las Colinas’ gondola-dotted lake is becoming a popular training area for upright paddleboarding. A sunrise or sunset class is a great date idea. On a future date, when you and your partner are both good enough, you can paddleboard on the lake for fun. The apartments at AMLI Las Colinas are right on Lake Carolyn.

Rock out to live music

Where music is in the air, love is likely also in the air. Take that someone special in your life to a live music venue to enjoy life, music, and a drink or a meal. Cafe Bohemia, Courtyard Theater, The Kitchen Cafe, Love and War in Texas, SoHo Food & Jazz, The Track Studio, and Taverna Rossa are Plano hangouts where you can often catch live local talent.

Skydive at iFLY

Daredevil duos, you can get the thrills you seek on a date at iFLY. The simulated skydiving experience afforded by iFLY’s giant wind tunnel feels quite similar to the real thing. If you aspire to jump out of a plane with a parachute attached to your back some day, iFLY’s simulated flight experience is a great place to start. iFLY’s north Dallas wind tunnel is a 10-minute walk from AMLI at the Ballpark.

Take a cooking class

The couple that cooks together is cute together in the eyes of all who know them. This trendy date concept requires you and your partner to both learn together and work as a team. Tre Wilcox Cooking Concepts in Plano leads small-group cooking classes for adults and children. Throughout the class/your date, you’ll prepare a three-course meal.

Plano’s Central Market also has culinary classes, which sometime involve cooking, but also touches on subjects like wine pairing and knife skills. Tre Wilcox is a five-minute drive from AMLI at the Ballpark .
