Must-Try Food Trucks in Austin

by
Mar 20th, 2019

Food trucks are a simple way to snag some of the best bites around. These trucks throw a unique twist on some of your favorite dishes. And the best part? There’s no sitting around waiting for someone to come take your order! Whether you’re on the move and need a quick bite or are in the mood for some cheesy goodness after a night of drinking, food trucks seem to make the world go round. And while it would be impossible to name off all of the food trucks listed throughout the city, Austin has some pretty memorable bites that are conveniently located close to our downtown Austin apartments. Wondering what they are? Be sure to keep on reading!

Cow Bells

1919 E. Riverside Drive

With their goal of making the best burger you’ve ever sunk your teeth into, Cow Bells prides itself on using fresh beef and crisp vegetables to create a delectable burger you’re sure to love! Try out a simple burger such as their Archetype, finished with mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion. Or give your taste buds a run for their money with their Spare Tire, with bacon and fried pickles as toppings. For beverages, take your pick from either homemade cherry lemonade or a root beer float, and add your choice of side. Mini corn dogs, anyone? If you’re interested in having Cow Bells for your next company outing or party, hire them for delivery or on-site catering.

Churro Co.

1906 S. First St.

Paying homage to traditional Mexican street food, Churro Co. is the food truck of choice for anyone with a sweet tooth! Located right in the South Shore district, this easy to access food truck is a short 10-minute drive from our South Shore apartments, giving you the chance to satiate your sweet tooth craving whenever you like! Open from Thursday through Sunday, pick from your choice of churro—complete with an optional scoop of vanilla ice cream and Nutella dipping sauce! Our recommendation? The Campfire, consisting of yummy churros tossed in graham cracker sugar, topped with Mexican chocolate sauce, whipped cream and torched marshmallows.

Acai Hut

1720 Barton Springs Road

Delicious and healthy? It’s true, people! For those of you who have never had the pleasure of trying an acai bowl, we’re telling you now—it’s a must-have. Known as a superfood, acai is best described as a cross between a blackberry and a piece of dark chocolate. Containing plenty of antioxidants and fiber, this is a go-to snack option for any time of the day. Add toppings such as fruit, granola and coconut to kick things up a notch, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how gratifying this sweet and healthy treat is. If you’re in a rush, order ahead and conveniently pick up your acai bowl as you continue on with your day. The Acai Hut is located near Zilker Park, putting you a short five-minute drive from our apartments on North Lamar!
