Luckily for residents of Palm Beach Gardens and West Palm Beach apartments, the culinary excellence for which Miami is known extends well beyond the confines of the city. From upscale restaurants on the water to first-rate kitchens that cater to the demands of the pro golfers passing through Palm Beach Gardens, the West Palm Beach restaurant scene is diverse, dynamic, and nothing short of impressive.
If you’re not already well acquainted with the culinary selections on offer near your apartment, here are a few restaurants to check out.
Cafe Chardonnay
Elegant spreads of farm-to-table food are the hallmark of Cafe Chardonnay, a Palm Beach Gardens institution that rarely has an open table. Executive chef Luis Ceballos is an artist in more than one way, leaving patrons unsure as to whether they’re more impressed by the food or its masterful arrangement. The master sommelier also does an excellent job of curating a wine selection tailored to the dishes on the menu at any given time.
Coolinary Cafe
If upscale American cuisine at a fair price is what you’re after, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better option than Coolinary Cafe. The restaurant at this Tim Lipman venture features shrimp escabeche, green chili pork shoulder, and rabbit sausage served on a bed of noodles. One of the highlights of the experience here is the opportunity to enjoy a cocktail at the bar while watching your meal as it’s prepared from scratch. Carefully selected craft beer and wine selections make pairing your meal with the perfect drink a breeze at this Palm Beach Gardens restaurant.
Cool’A Fishbar
There are conch fritters with Creole dipping sauce for appetizing, macadamia-nut crunchy yellow tail drizzled with mango for a main, and sides of salad, potatoes, and coconut rice at Cool’A Fishbar, a casual seafood eatery. A tropical-inspired tiki bar in the back invites you to have a drink while you wait for a table, and welcomes you to linger as long as you’d like. Cool’A Fishbar is located across the street from The Gardens Mall.
Rhythm Café
For nearly 30 years, the culinary experts at Rhythm Cafe have been serving up mouthwatering, home-style dishes. The menu features an eclectic mix of dishes, including saganaki, Indian lentils, butternut squash ravioli, and jambalaya pasta. Reservations are recommended, especially if you’re making the trek from Palm Beach Gardens. The drive will take you between 20 and 30 minutes, but your dining experience should make it worth your while.
Talay Thai
If you’re not already familiar with Talay Thai, it’s probably because someone’s trying to keep a secret from you. Popular among pro golfers playing the Championship Golf Courses, Talay serves classic and fusion Thai dishes in an authentic-feeling space. Famous for its service, Talay Thai is a place most diners want to visit again and again.
Castaways Bar and Grill
Living in West Palm Beach, you have a lot of excellent food options if you’re willing to drive 15 or 20 minutes. Within walking distance, however, your choices are much more limited. Aside from a handful of fast chains, Castaways Bar and Grill is your only real option. Offering traditional American food at affordable prices, Castaways is a fine choice for a sandwich, salad, or grilled fish on any night you’re looking for something quick, convenient, and satisfactory.
Hopefully this gives you some food for thought as you plan your next dinner out at in the Palm Beaches. Wherever you decide to go, we hope you have delicious food and a wonderful dining experience.
