Twenty-Four Future Apartments Planned for AMLI Residential

November 8, 2012, Dallas – AMLI apartments have 24 future green apartments that will be built for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification. AMLI is also among the top five builders in multifamily due to the number of developments in the pipeline. AMLI expects to break ground on a 279-unit green apartment complex in Northeast Austin in the first quarter of 2013, with the first units available in the third or fourth quarter of 2014, said Taylor Bowen, executive vice president of AMLI Residential. The apartments are located in the Mueller community, a master-planned community in Northeast Austin, that is set to feature approximately 8,000 square feet of retail space and will be located near the upcoming Austin Children’s Museum. A project is awarded LEED Certification when it meets LEED prerequisites and credit categories, determined by the U.S. Green Building Council, and earns a minimum 40 points on a 110-point LEED rating system scale. Prerequisites include factors such as compliance with all environmental laws and regulations as well as occupancy scenarios. All of these add up to determine if a project is environmentally efficient enough to be awarded LEED Certification.
