PATH400 Greenway is a paved walking path that runs along the GA 400—also known as the T. Harvey Mathis Parkway. in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood. The new path provides residents with the ability to escape crossing busy streets and commute on foot right in the metro Atlanta area.
PATH400 Greenway opened its first phase in 2015, which connects Old Ivy Road and Tower Place and is now more than 50 percent complete. The next phase of the PATH400 project will be under construction within the next year. By the fall of 2019, you’ll be able to get from Lindbergh to Lenox Square without sharing the road with car traffic. This vast walking path is a great addition to the neighborhood for our residents in our Buckhead apartments. Let’s get into why we love walking on the PATH400 Greenway.
The plan
Once fully completed, PATH400 Greenway will be a total of 5.2 miles and course through the heart of Buckhead, connecting Atlanta neighborhoods, offices and shopping destinations. Soon, the path will allow for pedestrians, dog walkers and bike riders to join up with the Atlanta Beltline in the south, as well as trails in Sandy Springs and north Fulton County. This expansion will make PATH400 Greenway part of a larger network that’s safe for walkers and bike riders right in busy Atlanta.
Scenery
Along the PATH400 Greenway, you’ll see a host of temporary local artwork consisting of 25-foot chalk murals along the sound wall between PATH400 and the highway. New artwork will be rotated every few months and it’s all to support local artists and to enhance the experience of walking on the PATH400 Greenway. Other than artwork, you’ll get a great view of the Atlanta skyline as well as immersion with trees, wildflowers and natural landscape. This greenway is a great mix of city and nature all combined into one. There’s plenty of beauty throughout the entire walking path and lots of opportunities for great photos along the way. Experience the sights on PATH400 Greenway, located under 2 miles from our apartments near Phipps Plaza.
Access
There are currently four access points to get on PATH400 Greenway:
- The intersection of GA 400 and Lenox Road
- Old Ivy Road where it crosses under GA 400

The entry points that are under 2 miles from our Buckhead apartments are located on Lenox Road as well as Old Ivy Road. Parking is available but limited near every access point. Walking or biking to path entrances is encouraged.
