by
Dec 2nd, 2025

Finding a fresh holiday tree in South Florida takes a bit more planning than it does in colder climates.

The good news is that Miami has plenty of options for tree shoppers, from neighborhood pop-up lots to big-box retailers to delivery services that bring the tree right to your door.

Here’s where you can find real holiday trees near our luxury Miami apartments near Downtown Miami, with the locations organized by distance from the city center. Whether you want to walk through a mini forest of Fraser firs, support a local charity or just grab a tree while picking up hardware supplies, there's sure to be an option here that fits your needs!

Holiday tree retail options throughout Miami

If you prefer to pick up a tree while running other errands, several major retailers carry real holiday trees seasonally.

Home Depot

Home Depot locations throughout Miami-Dade County stock live holiday trees starting in late November. They carry locally grown trees when possible, along with various fir, spruce and pine varieties. Trees typically last four to six weeks when properly cared for, and the store recommends purchasing around Thanksgiving for the best selection and longest enjoyment. Free delivery is available for online orders.

Lowe's

Lowe's carries fresh holiday trees at locations throughout Miami-Dade. They offer free delivery on tree orders over $45, which most trees qualify for. Delivery typically takes two to five days, though times vary based on availability.

Walmart

Walmart locations carry real holiday trees seasonally, with options including Fraser firs in various sizes. They also offer online ordering with home delivery if you prefer not to transport a tree yourself.

Delivery services

If you'd rather skip the trip entirely, several services will deliver and set up a tree in your home!

Wishing Star Christmas Tree Delivery

Wishing Star serves Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach and surrounding areas. They deliver and install trees right to your door, handling everything so you don't have to worry about scratching your car or standing in line at a lot. They serve both residential and corporate clients and offer end-of-season tree removal as well.

A portion of each purchase goes toward donating trees to children in foster care through their partnership with local foster care organizations.

Tree Towne Christmas Trees

Tree Towne offers holiday tree delivery and setup throughout South Florida. Their team will deliver your tree, set it up in a stand and make sure everything is cleaned up. After the holidays they can also remove your tree and handle proper recycling.

Additional services include mechanical tree shaking to remove old needles, dirt and leaves before your tree enters your home. They also offer pre-flocked trees for a snow-covered look. You can purchase a tree at one of their lots and schedule delivery, or order a Fraser or Noble fir online.

Choose-and-cut farm experiences

While there are no traditional holiday tree farms in South Florida (the climate doesn't support fir or spruce growth), several Central Florida farms offer the full choose-and-cut experience. These make for a memorable day trip if you want to create that quintessential tree-cutting memory with your family.

Santa's Christmas Tree Forest

Located about four hours north of Miami in Eustis, Santa's Christmas Tree Forest is a working tree farm where you can cut your own Florida-grown holiday tree. The farm provides saws and offers hayrides through 17 acres of trees. Traditional firs and spruces can't grow in Florida, so the available varieties are different from what you'd find up north, but the experience of choosing and cutting your own tree is the same.

The farm also offers pre-cut northern trees if you prefer traditional varieties. Family activities include a petting zoo, jump pad and pony rides. Admission tickets are required for all visitors, and popular dates sell out quickly, so purchase in advance.

Ergle Christmas Tree Farm

Ergle holiday Tree Farm in Dade City (about 4-4.5 hours from Miami) is the oldest and largest holiday tree farm in Florida, operating since 1986. The 24-acre farm offers Long Needled Sand Pine and Southern Cedar trees for choose-and-cut, with pricing starting at $48 for trees six feet and under.

They also carry pre-cut Fraser firs, Nobles and Burton Blues shipped from North Carolina, starting at $95 for a six-foot tree. The farm is dog-friendly and has free parking with no admission charge. Additional activities include a train ride (weekends only), farm animals and a gift barn.

Additional options in Broward County

If you're willing to drive 30-45 minutes from Downtown Miami, several Broward County locations offer excellent tree selections.

Flamingo Road Nursery

Flamingo Road Nursery in Davie has been South Florida's destination garden center for over 20 years. Their 10-acre facility carries fresh-cut Fraser fir trees along with a full selection of plants, gardening supplies and holiday décor. The nursery also has a café and is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and helpful staff.

Located on South University Drive in Davie, this lot carries trees from 2 to 20 feet tall in Fraser Fir, Noble Fir, Scotch Pine, Blue Spruce and White Spruce varieties.

Tree shopping tips

Shopping for a tree in Miami requires some advance planning since all trees are shipped in from out of state. Here are a few tips to get the best tree:

  • Shop early but not too early. Thanksgiving Day is actually a great time to shop because lots aren't crowded, and the tree you buy on opening day is the same one that might sit there a week later — getting it into water sooner helps it last longer.
  • Check for freshness. Look for trees with bright, vibrant color, and remember that fresh fir needles should snap crisply when bent. Gently pull on the needles; they should stay on the tree. A fresh trunk will feel slightly sticky.
  • Measure before you go. Know your ceiling height and the available width in your display area, leaving at least six inches above the tree for a topper and accounting for the height of the stand.
  • Keep it cool and watered. Place your tree away from heat sources like vents, fireplaces and sunny windows. A well-hydrated tree can consume a gallon or more of water per day, so check the stand daily. Fresh-cut trees typically last four to six weeks with proper care.

Tree recycling after the holidays

When the season ends, Miami-Dade County residents can recycle their trees at any Neighborhood Trash and Recycling Center. Remove all decorations first, then drop off your clean tree! Centers include North Dade, Norwood, Palm Springs North, Golden Glades, West Little River, Snapper Creek, Sunset Kendall and West Perrine.

Whether you want a quick pickup from a nearby lot, a full-service delivery experience or a day trip to cut your own tree, the Miami area has options to fit every preference and budget in and around our luxury apartments in Edgewater and beyond. The key is planning ahead, shopping early in the season and keeping your tree well-watered once it's home.

Happy holidays!
