Denver’s skyline is nice to look at, but that’s not the only reason to snag a seat at one of the Mile-High City’s hottest rooftop bars or restaurants. Scenic mountain views and Colorado’s beautiful weather are two other forces that make Denver rooftops especially pleasant. Here are some of the most well-situated, designed, and run rooftops where you can eat and drink this summer.
Ale House at Amato’s
From Amato’s vantage point across the Millennium Bridge, the downtown Denver skyline looks pretty neat. Appreciate it over a local craft beer and some classic pub grub. This popular LoHi spot is a 15-minute walk from AMLI Riverfront Park.
Avanti F&B
Choose your own culinary adventure at Avanti, a modern-day food hall featuring sushi, pizza, Venezuelan arepas, street Italian, and farm-to-table American eats. The beverage menu here has 11 cocktails and 18 beers on tap, and the people-watching is pretty good. Avanti’s rooftop patio, a 10-minute walk from AMLI Riverfront Park, offers a nice perspective over the LoHi neighborhood.
Departure Elevated
Long in the works, this swanky rooftop bar atop the Halcyon Hotel finally opened earlier this summer. The spacious cherry creek rooftop boasts excellent views, handcrafted cocktails, and a rotating dim sum menu.
FIRE at the Art Hotel
The Art Hotel’s chic, fourth-floor terrace is open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. Photo-worthy views are only icing on the cake at this comfortable, impressively-designed space a five-minute drive from AMLI Park Avenue.
Ignite Kitchen & Cocktails
The rooftop patio at this popular burger bar is half-sheltered and half-exposed, making it palatable for pretty much all of baseball season. Two blocks from Coors Field, Ignite is a popular pre-game dining and drinking option.
Jackson’s
Another ballpark neighborhood haunt, Jackson’s can claim the largest rooftop patio in Denver. The recently renovated rooftop boasts Coors Field views and 40 flat-screen TVs. It’s also home to equipment for corn hole tournaments and other crowd contests.
Jax Fish House and Oyster Bar
For fresh seafood and awe-inspiring mountain views, head to the Glendale outpost of this Denver seafood restaurant. The full menu is available on the rooftop, so there’s nothing stopping you from eating your heart out while you watch the sunset over the majestic Rockies. Jax Fish House’s cocktail menu has several special summer offerings.
Linger
Linger’s once-sweeping views are now partially obstructed, but the popular Highlands restaurant still has one of the hottest rooftops in town. And their diverse menu is as rave-worthy as it’s ever been. Make the 15-minute walk from AMLI Riverfront Park to Linger for a post-work cocktail or weekend brunch.
Los Chingones
What’s better than legit tacos and margs? How about legit tacos and margaritas with a view? The food and drinks at Los Chingones are so good–this RiNo gem would do a roaring trade without an epic rooftop. But Los Chingones has both, on Larimer Street a mile from AMLI Park Avenue’s Denver apartment rentals.
Postino
This wine bar has one of trendy LoHi’s more spacious rooftops in the neighborhood. They also serve satisfying snacks and have a decent beer selection, for patrons less fond of vino. Pitchers of beer and glasses of wine are before 5pm, every day of the week. On Mondays and Tuesdays after 8pm, you can enjoy a bottle of wine and bruschetta together for 0. A date with a view awaits you at Postino, less than 15 minutes’ walk from AMLI Riverfront Park.
Tamayo
This Larimer Square restaurant, started by prolific chef Richard Sandoval, ranks high on most lists of quality Mile-High Mexican cuisine. Tamayo is also considered one of Denver’s best rooftops for viewing the sunset. If you’re lucky enough to snag a patio seat for brunch, you can bliss out on bottomless mimosas in the sun for 9.
ViewHouse Eatery, Bar, and Rooftop
Stunning skyline views are the primary selling point for this aptly-named rooftop restaurant, with locations in Centennial and across from the ballpark. Other draws include an extensive menu, good homegrown beer selection, and affordable prices. A 15-minute walk from AMLI Riverfront Park, the ballpark-adjacent ViewHouse rooftop also hosts yoga classes, movie screenings, and other view-tastic events. The Centennial ViewHouse is a 10-minute walk from AMLI Dry Creek.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
This Five Points bar has a fun name, extraordinary whiskey menu, decent beer selection, and epic Coors Field views. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, less than 10 minutes’ walk from AMLI Riverfront Park, also serves fresh takes on classic comfort snacks. The pork wings and buffalo cauliflower are both popular.
