Dadeland is not renowned for its food, but the Miami district’s culinary offerings have diversified and improved markedly in recent years. New eateries, focused around the Downtown Dadeland lifestyle center and Dadeland Mall, open every couple of months. Here’s a look at five Dadeland restaurants that have started serving patrons over the last year.
The Brick
Since opening a year ago, The Brick has been one of the most popular restaurants in Dadeland. If grass-fed meat, locally-sourced produce, and homestyle cooking appeal to you, plan a meal at this farm-to-table establishment. A collaboration between 28-year-old entrepreneur Corey Bousquet and leading chef Alan Susser, The Brick has garnered positive feedback for its appetizers, mains, drinks, and desserts. The restaurant is located in the Downtown Dadeland complex, a five-minute drive from AMLI Dadeland.
Ghee Indian Kitchen
Around the corner from The Brick, this hip Gujarati restaurant is one of the hardest places to secure a table in Dadeland. Husband-and-wife duo Niven and Shivani Patel poured their heart and soul into this project, and it shows in every dish. From pakora to biryani, every item on the menu is prepared with close attention to detail. Ghee serves plenty of meat dishes. But an abundance of veggie options prepared with some of the freshest produce around makes Ghee feel like a place that caters to vegetarians.
Harry’s Pizzeria
James Beard Award-winning Chef Michael Schwartz opened his fist neighborhood pizzeria in Miami’s Design District in 2011. In 2012, Harry’s Pizzeria was named one of the best new pizza places in the country by Food & Wine. In 2015, a second location opened in Coconut Grove. This May, Harry’s opened its third pizza parlor in Downtown Dadeland. If you have yet to sample a slice, visit the pizzeria or have a pie delievered to your Dadeland apartment.
Latin Grill
Latin Grill, which opened in the Dadeland Mall Dining Pavilion late last year, serves traditional Latin cuisine. Visit for quick, affordable classics like arroz con pollo and fried plantains. Latin Grill is a 10-minute walk from AMLI’s Dadeland apartments.
Oris Sushi
Another late-2016 arrival to the Dadeland Dining Pavilion, Oris Sushi is still not very well-known. But don’t let its lack of notoriety or food court location deter you from trying it. Oris’ inexpensive sashimi and rolls offer a fresh and healthy alternative to most food court dining options. And they’re quality enough to compete with sushi from other Dadeland restaurants.
