Where to Eat in Houston's Energy Corridor

by
Jul 17th, 2017

Houston’s reputation for culinary excellence benefits everyone who calls the Bayou City home. You don’t even have to be in or near downtown to find world-class cuisine to satisfy any tastes. If you live or work in Houston’s Energy Corridor business district, keep this list of quality restaurants in mind.

Aka Japanese

This Energy Corridor restaurant’s all-day weekend happy hour brings the crowds on Saturdays and Sundays. But Aka Japanese is a great option for quality, fresh sushi and Japanese dishes any day of the week. Aka is affordable, especially when you’re ordering a lunch special.

BBs Cafe

This Houston chain specializes in Tex-New Orleans-style cooking, and most customers and critics agree that they do it well. Drop in for a po boy, gumbo, fried catfish, or whatever cajun-inspired dish you crave.

Doux Cafe

At the intersection of Houston’s Energy Corridor and Memorial area stands one of Houston’s finest French cafes. Doux Cafe’s artfully prepared crepes and waffles are made all the better by this gem’s cozy ambience and affordable prices.

Glazed The Doughnut Cafe

If you wake in your Energy Corridor apartment hankering for a doughnut, you’re in luck. Glazed The Doughnut Cafe, one of Houston’s most beloved doughnut purveyors, has only two locations.  Visit for a dazzling array of glazed doughnuts and doughnut sandwiches, like the glazed double cheeseburger and glazed breakfast sandwich.

Lasagna House III

One of the most established Energy Corridor restaurants, Lasagne House III is an old-school Italian ristorante known for its traditional, filling fair. For more than three decades, fond patrons have returned again and again for homemade Italian classics like gnocchi, lasagna, and chicken parmesan. Lasagna House III is a five-minute drive from AMLI’s Energy Corridor apartments.

Matsu Sushi Bar

A mainstay on the Houston scene since shortly after opening in 1995, Matsu serves the usual sushi and roll suspects. They also serve less easy-to-find delicacies like hamachi ceviche and cheese kamaboko. Matsu Sushi Bar’s Energy Corridor outpost, open since 2009, serves the same fare as the original Champions Terrace location.

Pastelito’s Cafe

This Energy Corridor cafe’s game consists of home-made South American pastries (savory and sweet), sandwiches, and espresso.

Pecan Creek Grille

A good place to satiate a chicken and waffles craving, Pecan Creek Grille serves breakfast all day long and bottomless coffee you top up yourself.

Petit Cafe

This Lebanese-inspired restaurant has a distinctly eastern Mediterranean flair. In addition to falafel, hummus, and Lebanese sausages, you can enjoy non-edible treats at this restaurant like belly dancing performances and live jazz music.

Pho Basil

There are a lot of great places to enjoy a steaming bowl of Pho in Houston. This Energy Corridor restaurant serves nine varieties of the sensational Vietnamese soup, spring rolls, noodle dishes, boba (tapioca ball) drinks, Thai tea, and Vietnamese coffee.

Poké Bar

Once the poké craze hit Houston, it didn’t take long for a quality joint to open in the Energy Corridor. Poké Bar’s generous portions and DIY toppings make it a sure bet for getting your poké fix.

Rattan Pan Asian

You’re craving Vietnamese. Someone in your dinner party wants a Thai curry. Another is dead set on sushi. What do you do? Reserve a table at Rattan Pan Asian for its diverse menu offerings, expansive wine list, chic decor, and impressive service.
