Living in Midtown Miami or near our luxury apartments in Wynwood means having world-class art, dining and nightlife right outside your door — but for dog owners, the real question is: where can Fido stretch his legs?

While these neighborhoods are known more for galleries than green space, the truth is that some of Miami's best dog-friendly parks are just minutes away from our luxury Miami apartments!

Whether you're looking for an off-leash dog park where your pup can make new friends or a shaded trail for your morning walk, this guide covers the best spots within a quick stroll or short drive from home.

Dog parks & dog-friendly spaces near Miami Design District

Margaret Pace Park & Dog Park

Edgewater

Set directly on Biscayne Bay just minutes from our apartments in Edgewater, the Margaret Pace Park designated off-leash park is something of a hidden gem, tucked away just north of Downtown Miami. Named for one of Miami's most important preservationists, Margaret Pace Park boasts vast grassy lawns with picturesque waterfront views of the Venetian Islands and Miami Beach beyond.

The park spans approximately 8-10 acres and features a dedicated half-acre dog park with two fenced sections for off-leash play: one for dogs over 25 pounds and another for smaller dogs. Additional features include park bench seating, some pup-approved "fire hydrants" and water fountains for both dogs and people!

Nearby points of interest:

  • Pura Vida — This upscale health foods store and cafe is within walking distance for an easy post-park refresher.
  • D'Luxe Dog Pet Concierge & Boutique — An upscale pet grooming service that will have your pup looking and feeling like the royalty that they are!

Unique characteristics:

  • One of the unique features of the park is the three mosaic chairs installation, which represent different religious and ethnic cultures found in Miami. These 20-foot high art installations make for some pretty memorable photo opportunities!
  • Park amenities also include a basketball and tennis court, shaded playground, outdoor exercise equipment, sand volleyball court, paved walkway, public art, paddleboard and kayak rentals and, of course, the dog park.
  • Open 24 hours, there is street parking available via mobile app payment service.

Roberto Clemente Park (on-leash only)

Wynwood

If you're craving the outdoors, nothing beats a memorable visit to Roberto Clemente Park, Wynwood's only pocket park! A large plot of grass with amenities stacked around it, the famous park is open to humans and pups to explore and enjoy. Roberto Clemente Park is fully fenced-in and surrounded by calm streets and lanes of family neighborhoods, so you're sure to have a quiet and secluded time with your furry pal while you're here.

The park features a perimeter sidewalk trail, open grassy areas, baseball diamonds and plenty of shade trees.

Nearby points of interest:

  • Wynwood Walls — World-famous outdoor street art museum, just blocks away.
  • Pastis Miami — French bistro in Wynwood with a pet-friendly patio.

Unique characteristics:

  • Named after the legendary Puerto Rican baseball player and humanitarian, Roberto Clemente Park has long been a cherished gathering place for families, friends and sports enthusiasts alike.
  • The park holds historical significance, as Wynwood was once called "Little San Juan" due to its prominent Puerto Rican community dating back to the 1950s.
  • Other park amenities include a playground, basketball court, football field, picnic tables, an outdoor sports area and a recreation center.

This eye-catching art piece honors Cuban architect Jose Milton and has become quite the photo spot for visitors. The bright red domino pieces are so distinctive you can even spot them while driving across the I-195 causeway between Miami Beach and Midtown.
  • The park also features an automated self-service paddleboard rental kiosk, so visitors can easily access necessary equipment for water activities.
  • There’s limited parking and no public restrooms on-site.
  • Dogs welcome on-leash; just bring your own water and cleanup bags.

Dorsey Park (on-leash only)

Overtown

An unassuming municipal park with athletic fields & courts, plus an array of murals, Dorsey Park is another nearby dog-friendly park you can easily explore with your pet. The park has rich historical significance, too, as it was created in 1917 by Dana Albert Dorsey, Miami's first black millionaire!

  • Biscayne Park — Nearby field space for sports and recreation. A good stop on a walk from Wynwood to Dorsey Park.
  • BOHO House Miami — Eclectic eatery with small plates and cocktails served in a unique courtyard setting.

Unique characteristics:

  • One of the first things you'll notice at Dorsey Park today are the colorful murals that pay tribute to the rich heritage of local African-American baseball players and teams active during baseball's segregation era. These murals were recently restored and honor baseball legends including Jackie Robinson and Minnie Miñoso!
  • There are also picnic tables, an outdoor sports area, a playground for the kids, and outdoor gym equipment for exercise routines.
  • Dogs must remain on leash, and remember to bring cleanup supplies.
