We asked our residents to submit a photograph of their best do-it-yourself (DIY) project with a descriptive caption that describes it, and almost 300 flooded in for the national My AMLI DIY contest! The submissions blew us away with their creativity and crafty skills! We saw everything from tables made with pallets and wine crates to reupholstered furniture, to plumbing pipes used as bookshelves, and so much more. Summer in Chicago is one of my favorite seasons. Yes, that means winter and sub-zero temperatures are finally over, but it also means it’s time for festivals! I’m guessing you’ve all heard of the Taste of Chicago, Lollapalooza, and maybe even the Blues Festival. I’m not going to go into those. Chicago is a neighborhood city and there’s so much more to explore than just the downtown area (as us Chicagoans like to call it, The Loop). Here are a few of my favorite neighborhood festivals you won’t want to miss this summer.

Every May, a mixture of beloved music artists and talented unknowns fill West Palm Beach’s waterfront at the 33rd annual SunFest. The festival is Florida’s largest music, art, and waterfront festival. This year was no exception.
