The Grove is only a few miles East of the River Oaks Apartments, Allen Parkway Apartments, Washington Corridor Apartments and the Montrose Apartments.
3614 W Alabama St.
Tiny Boxwoods is an upscale-casual café serving classic breakfast and lunch fare amidst lush greenery and has an outdoor patio. Their avocado toast is served with lime, sea salt, red pepper flakes, honey with bacon and a fried egg ($14). This quaint spot has a fresh food program that is focused on making every dish from scratch. Take the nine-minute ride on the 082 subway at Westheimer Rd @ MC Cure Rd from the Houston Galleria Apartments and Tiny Boxwoods is just a short walk down Saint Street.
3119 White Oak Drive
Did someone say bagel sandwich? This bright deli and bakery features classic New York-style bagels and coffee in a modern space. Golden Bagels & Coffee has a variety of different bagels and toasts to choose from—all with a Gulf Coast charm. Try their hummus toast with chickpeas, herbs and olive tapenade ($7.95). Their avocado toast is also a must try with avocado spread, radish, herbs and black pepper ($8.50). Golden Bagels & Coffee is located only two miles north of the apartments near Midtown Houston.
2606 Edloe St.
This compact café offers fresh juices, coffee, baked goods and light fare with a spacious patio and garden. Enjoy their avocado toast with radish, sprouts, sea salt and lemon ($6). Their plain jane toast with banana, almond butter and chia seeds is also a wonderful choice ($6). Pair your toast with a fresh pressed juice—it’s what Bebidas is most well-known for! This fancy toast spot is located just 2 miles east of Uptown Houston apartments.
3422 Allen Parkway
The Kitchen at Dunlavy is a modern space and eatery serving light bites and cocktails overlooking Buffalo Bayou Park. Their menu, which draws influence from Southern California and includes produce sourced from three local gardens, all in a spacious “glass tree house dining room.” The Kitchen at Dunlavy has toast in every variety from avocado toast with grilled sourdough bread, sliced avocado, whipped ricotta and lemon zest ($5) to the Salmon Gravlax Toast with grilled multigrain bread, whipped cream cheese, pickled red onion, capers and arugula ($8). Walk less than one mile along Allen Parkway from the Buffalo Bayou Apartments and arrive at the Kitchen at Dunlavy.
