Inspiring Health and Wellness Blogs to Follow

by
Apr 28th, 2017

Everyone can benefit from having a health guru. But it can get overwhelming with so much literature available about healthy eating and maintaining a fitness regimen. Well, we’re here to help narrow down the search for information that’s both accurate and pertinent to your everyday life. While this list is far from complete, here are some health blogs you can count on for well-researched, well-written content and healthy living inspiration.

24 Carrot Life

Katie started this food-centric health blog four years ago to show readers that eating healthy, eating simply, and eating well are not mutually exclusive. Recipes make up much of the blog’s content, but 24 Carrot Life also features posts on travel, curing skin ails through dietary changes, and more.

Years ago, a friend told me that he thought I was getting "too diesel" (aka bulky). At the time, this comment really disturbed me. I felt angry that someone felt it was appropriate to comment on my body in this way, but moreso I wondered, "Is it true? Am I too diesel/jacked/muscular?" • I remember feeling extremely vulnerable and questioning my choices for my body, all because someone thought it was okay to decide that I was was "too much." The funny thing is that now, after spending years reclaiming my worth and my personal power, I welcome the concept of taking up space with my body and my voice. • While I never think it's okay to impose your thoughts and perceptions on someone else's body, I use these comments as an opportunity to both open a dialogue and stand in my power. • Now when someone says I look jacked, I simply reply, "Fuckin' right I do." What I choose to do with my body, how I choose to adorn it and train it - that's my prerogative. My body literally has nothing to do with anyone but me. • What it comes down to is this: THE ONLY OPINION OF YOUR BODY THAT MATTERS IS YOUR OWN. So rather than stressing out over whether someone thinks you're "too jacked/lean/big/fat/skinny..." spend your energy cultivating an opinion of your body that is loving and compassionate - one that isn't conditional or destructive. #jackedandtan #toomuscular #diesel #bodypositive #musclesandmindfulness #girlswholift #nastywoman #strongbetch 📷@violetartistry
