Fuel Up at the Best Buckhead Coffee Shops

by
Mar 2nd, 2016

Atlanta’s chic Buckhead neighborhood is buzzing with cafes and – depending on where you draw the borders – Starbucks and Caribou together have a claim to at least eight of them. If you’d rather not spend your time at one of these coffee giants or you just prefer to support small business, there’s plenty of other options. Here are few independent Buckhead coffee shops worth checking out.

SIP the Experience

SIP is the sort of coffee shop that can do no wrong. SIP serves French Press and Table Press Coffee, boasts a range of espresso-infused beverages, and has more than a dozen organic, loose leaf tea varieties to choose from. They serve brunch. They serve grilled cheese. They serve hummus and pita. The design is impeccable. There are outlets by every table. SIP the Experience is the sort of place you can camp out with your laptop until your work is done without feeling like you’re causing a nuisance. SIP also validates parking for up to two hours at the Garson Parking Deck. But if you live in the Buckhead apartments at AMLI Lindbergh or AMLI Piedmont Heights, you won’t even have to drive because it’s less than a 10-minute walk away.

Octane ATV

Located on the first floor of the Atlanta Tech Village – the heart of the city’s start-up scene – this is definitely the kind of place that thrives on caffeine. Since opening its third Atlanta location in the summer of 2014, Octane has done its best to deliver. The Buckhead coffee shop’s ample space means it can accommodate the droves of in-house workers, as well as residents of Buckhead apartments looking for a place to study or work away from home. Sweet snacks and a liquor license add to Octane’s appeal as a place to socialize as well.

The Cookie Studio

A friendly staff and sinfully delicious cookies, cupcakes, brownies, and pastries make The Cookie Studio the perfect place to fuel up with a morning coffee/sugar fix. Everything is baked in-house, using fine, local ingredients. The full coffee and espresso bar, featuring Intelligentsia beans, will leave you wanting for nothing. The Cookie Studio is about a five-minute drive from AMLI Lindbergh and AMLI Piedmont Heights.

Corso Coffee

An Italian-style coffee bar housed at The Shops Buckhead, Corso Coffee serves strong espresso drinks from an impeccably designed coffee bar. Fine American drip coffee is available. But if you like espresso, you cannot miss out on the handcrafted, wood-roasted Aneri Tricaffe espresso they use in their drinks.

The Ritz-Carlton

You don’t have to stay at the Ritz to drink coffee at The Cafe. The high-end hotel’s coffee bar has a reputation for brewing some of the best coffee and tea in Buckhead; the atmosphere is elegant; and daily newspapers from most major publications are available to read for free while fueling up for the day.

Few neighborhoods have quite as impressive a selection of dedicated coffee purveyors as Atlanta’s Buckhead. There’s plenty of trusty standbys like Starbucks and Caribou, and a ton of independently owned cafes that are serving up a unique experience with each cup of coffee.
