Based off of a Caribbean-style rum, the white rum offered is ideal for mixing and creating some of your favorite cocktails. Some of the ingredients in this spirit include molasses and evaporated cane juice, providing the perfect balance between smoothness and versatility.
Aged in oak barrels, the amber rum provides distinct caramel, vanilla and butterscotch notes that blend perfectly with mixed drinks or is tasty on its own.
If you’ve decided which spirit of choice you’d like to try out, be sure to head on over to the tasting room and put your taste buds to the test. No matter if you want a flight of shots or a specialty cocktail, the Whistling Hare has plenty to choose from. Try out the classics such as an old fashioned or mai tai, or spruce things up by trying out their 5th Column—created with white rum, lime, grapefruit and cherry. Also a popular choice, their Blood & Motor Oil is created using bourbon, Peychaud’s, lemon, orange and honey. If you become hungry, take your choice from their meat and cheese board, chips and salsa or pretzels.
To learn even more about the Whistling Hare and what it takes to create their premium spirits, tours are offered on both Saturdays and Sundays where you will be given an interactive demonstration on how their liquors are created. These tours cost 0 and last roughly 30 minutes, providing you with a complimentary cocktail at the end.
