Chill Out, You Deserve It | AMLI Residential

It has been heating up in most parts of the country over the past several weeks, but summer is nowhere near its end.  If you have not taken the time to relax and enjoy your upscale apartment’s swimming pool yet, you still have plenty of time to do so.  But don’t let this summer pass you by.  Start trying to work some fun-in-the-sun into your schedule sooner rather than later.  If you prefer to enjoy the pool with friends and would like to dazzle them with some refreshing drinks that can make your time on the pool deck more enjoyable, here are some summertime appropriate beverages you may want to try to mix up in your kitchen.

Mango Passion Fruit Smoothie

Mango and passion fruit may be evocative of a vacation in Hawaii, Thailand, or Costa Rica. But there is no reason why you should enjoy these healthy treats only when you are off the mainland.  Seek out the following ingredients, blend together, and enjoy by your Dallas or Southern California upscale apartment pool:

  • 2 mangoes
  • 4 passion fruits (passion fruit can be hard to find, and 1.5 cups passion fruit concentrate can be used as an alternative)
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1.5 cups ice
  • 1 cup pineapple, sliced (if desired)

Coconut Mango Water

Another tropical inspired favorite, for this smoothie you’ll need:

  • 1 mango (peeled and pitted)
  • 2 cups unsweetened coconut water
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (fresh is preferred)
  • Dash of cayenne pepper

Strawberry Banana Yogurt Smoothie

This derivation of one of America’s most beloved smoothies is hard to deny, especially when it is served up on upscale apartment pool grounds as sophisticated as those at AMLI on 2nd in Austin.  The preparation is the same as for most smoothies.  What you will need to serve two is:

  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Watermelon Rosemary Lemonade

Looking for a poolside drink that screams summer?  This unique, thirst-quenching, health-promoting beverage definitely does that, and it is certainly worth a try.  It requires a bit more preparation than most smoothies, but it is well worth the effort.  First, mix water and sugar in a saucepan and add rosemary sprigs.  Heat until the sugar dissolves, and allow the mixture to sit for an hour.  Once that hour has passed, you will have an aromatic sweet rosemary syrup that will complemented your blended lemon and watermelon mix perfectly.  You will need:

  • 7 cups watermelon, diced
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 sprigs rosemary
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 lemon to use as a garnish (optional)

Berry Berry Blast

Rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and dietary fiber, most berries are classified as super foods.  If you are looking for a poolside beverage that is cleansing, refreshing, and can suffice as a meal, blend the following ingredients together with some ice:

  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup cranberry juice
  • 1/2 cup acai berry juice
  • 1/2 cup strawberry yogurt
