Austin is a pretty cool place, and with a dozen luxury Austin apartment communities already here and growing, we have certainly fallen in love with our beautiful Texas treasure.

If you haven't already noticed, Austin is becoming quite the popular destination for big technology companies. Over 154 companies have announced plans to move here, bestowing the nickname “Silicon Hills” upon our rapidly growing city.
The brewery scene here is top-quality
Austin has a superb collection of top-tier breweries all around the city. The hard part will be narrowing down your favorite!
There’s a hobby for everyone
Whatever your hobbies or interests, Austin is home to a wide range of hobby classes for adults that are perfect for learning something new or honing an existing skill, like painting, music, sports, cooking, mixology, gardening and more!
The ancient Austin landscape
About 145 million years ago, Austin used to be completely underwater and surrounded by some massive oceanic volcanoes. Though the world looks a little different nowadays, we can still see evidence of Austin’s ancient geological processes and tectonic activity, like these dinosaur tracks or an ancient underwater volcano right outside the city!
Austin’s unpredictable weather
Austin’s famous thunderclouds, weird cold fronts and powerful lightning storms are all part of this unique climate region, giving us some pretty unpredictable reports and some pretty amazing weather. You may not know what’s coming, but it will certainly be something impressive.
Great swimming spots
There are some absolutely gorgeous swimming holes dotted along the Texas Hill Country landscape in and around Austin. From hidden holes to river rapids to spring-fed pools, you’re sure to find one to call your own in those hot summer months.
Great sports
Now, we may not be as well-known for sports as our neighbor, Dallas, but Austin is still home to some pretty amazing sports teams. From club rugby to professional soccer to ultimate frisbee and more, Austin’s local sports teams are well worth the hype!
Austin has some great, great food
There’s one thing we know for sure, and that’s that Austin is home to some divine food.
Here, all of Texas State’s favorite foods are just… better. Sorry, Dallas, we don’t make the rules.

It’s a great filming location
If you’re a film buff, you’ll notice that a decent amount of famous movies have been filmed right here in Austin! From horrors like “Friday the 13th,” comedies like “Miss Congeniality,” cult classics like “Dazed and Confused,” dramas like “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape” and more, Austin's movie-maker scene is unparalleled in the state.
Haunted houses galore
None of that made-up Halloween fright-night stuff either, mind you. Austin is home to some bona-fide haunted houses that have drawn paranormal investigators from all over the nation for years.

International sister cities
Austin has a thriving sister city program that connects it to its international community right here and to the wide world beyond. These cities include: Adelaide, Australia; Antalya, Turkey; Oita, Japan; Pune, India; and Old Orlu, Nigeria, just to name a few!
The iconic Texas State Capitol is here
If you haven’t done any research into the Texas State Capitol Building here in Austin, you’re missing out! Like, for example, the fact that it’s made of the largest supply of sunset red granite in the state and is taller than the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.!
It’s exactly 1,000 miles away from "Star Wars" Yavin 4
Okay, not really, but Austin is exactly 1,000 miles away from the location where the sci-fi movie’s rebel base was filmed, as well as a handful of other neat destinations. Fun fact, right?
The only surviving moonlight towers are here
Austin’s moonlight towers were, for a time, at the forefront of security and innovation around the world. Now, they stand alone as the last standing moonlight towers on the planet.
Austin is where stars are born
Austin’s vibrant music and arts scene has nurtured budding artists into worldwide sensations, the likes of which include Janis Joplin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Matthew McConaughey, Willie Nelson, Tom Ford and more!
Austin is for artists
No need to tell us that Austin is full of amazing, wildly-talented artists! Many of our community murals were done by local Austin artists, like these ones at our South Shore apartments done by muralist extraordinaire, Sam Jacobson!

Austin is a pet-friendly city
Austin is a great place for dog-lovers, what with all the trails, hikes and pet-friendly establishments you can bring your pup along to. If it’s puppy-approved, what more is there to look for?
The Texas Highland Lakes are here
The six manmade lakes along the Colorado River offer ample opportunity for swimming, hiking, camping and all sorts of fantastic outdoor recreation. In fact, we like them so much that our very own South Shore apartments are on the banks of Lady Bird Lake!
So, there you have it, folks! We don’t make the rules here, but it’s fairly obvious that Austin is a pretty top-tier spot to be. That’s why we’re here, I guess, and that’s why you’re here, too!
